More skirt talk on the blog this week,
after my Michael Kors and Anthropologie posts you think I would have enough for a while, right?
Guess what? Not yet!
Because this one is different.
It’s a totally different take on the whole pool side/beach cover up.
When I saw this amazing skirt from Elizabeth and James Spring collection (seen here and here),
Erin Fetherston has a similar one with lace, here.
I thought,
I NEED. I WANT. I…….. cannot afford.
So, you know me, I MAKE.
Sheer is so fun this season and this look does not disappoint especially with a cool contrasting suit!

So let’s break down this look.
- Fabric, finding a cool sheer fabric is important and Joann fabrics has some fun stuff,
I used a Pink Burnout Check from their Sew Sweet Collection,
and here’s what else I love: Rose Print, Daisy Embroidery, & White Floral. - Skirt, as much as I love making new patterns for YOU,
there are already a TON of gathered skirt tutorials online and I am not about reinventing the wheel.
So, if you are looking for a tutorial, here’s a good one to use by By Hand London.
I’m loving this skirt and I have a few summer swim parties that I am so excited to wear it.
I love this pink check and black and white stripe combo.
It’s totally glam and clean with such a classic silhouette,
yet new and daring because it’s see thru and completely unexpected!
Hopefully, you can take advantage of their season’s fun trend with style!
