If you haven’t already invested in McCall’s Pattern M6886, whatcha ya waiting for?
Even my novice of seamstresses are making this dress and they are looking FABULOUS.
It’s no surprise I use it time and time again with no fear,
this classic silhouette is a staple in the fashion world,
so when I spotted a similar red dress in Alice and Olivia’s prefall collection – I knew I needed to recreate this look.
The problem?
Fabric. Finding a close resemblance can be tricky but I have to say,
I SERIOUSLY lucked out when I was hunting for my next project at Hancock Fabric stores month,
because I found the perfect fabric HERE.

When you put the two together, add my favorite Coat Vest from October – it’s a match made in heaven.
To recreate this look, here’s what you need:
- McCall’s Pattern M6886, I used “Dress B”.
- Ponte Floral Red and Black Fabric, from Hancock Fabrics.
