I have loved the fringe trend since my last tutorial,
- DIY Fringe Earrings (so easy, have you tried it yet?)
- and of course, the DIY Fringe dress (EVEN EASIER – NO SEWING).
It’s a safe guess that almost any type of fringe is a big hit this season and like most of you,
I’m still obsessed with this twirl friendly trend – so naturally, it was REALLY FUN to make this week’s post!

Seriously though, after you make this jacket,
you too will be finding ways to get some air on this fringe!
To make this DIY Fringe Jacket, you need;
- Basic jacket pattern, like Butterick B345 – coat “c”, ditch the collar.
- A non-frayed faux suede
(I found mine at my local Walmart in Nevada over the summer and even here in Washington;
Walmart does not sell fabric online so I sadly cannot give you a link) - And those beautiful shiny fabric scissors of yours.
After you make the jacket, finish the seams – while ditching the hem for the body of the jacket and collar,
take your scissors and cut up to the waistline.

IF you can score an old suede jacket from the thrift store, then all you gotta do is cut-cut baby!
No matter the method, this is an easy trend to hop on and I’m loving it!
Next project is a skirt, purse, vest,
AH – I cannot get enough!
So while I’m movin’ and shakin’ with the newest fringe creation (yes, I will keep you in the loop),
I hope you can give this tutorial a try or stock up on some non-fraying faux suede!
Thanks for stopping by and have a glamorous day!
